Our Coaches

Head Coach

Phil Peckich serves as the 15th head football coach in the proud history of Bethel Park High School, leading the Black Hawks with passion, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Appointed head coach in 2023, Peckich assumed leadership after serving as offensive coordinator during one of the program’s most successful recent seasons — a 10-win campaign that culminated in a WPIAL semifinal appearance in the highly competitive Allegheny Six Conference. His leadership helped establish the physical, disciplined identity that continues to define Bethel Park Football.

A Pittsburgh native, Peckich built his football foundation at Montour High School, where he was a four-year varsity starter at running back and defensive back, helping lead the Spartans to a WPIAL Championship Game appearance. The competitive edge, toughness, and work ethic he developed as a player remain central pillars of his coaching philosophy.

Peckich continued his collegiate career at the University of Pittsburgh, playing under Dave Wannstedt, Todd Graham, and Paul Chryst, before transferring to Robert Morris University, where he played for legendary head coach Joe Walton. Competing under multiple staffs at the Division I level helped shape his perspective on leadership, preparation, and the importance of strong relationships within a program.

He began his coaching career at Montour High School, spending five seasons developing student-athletes and gaining experience on both sides of the ball. He later joined the Bethel Park staff, playing a key role in the program’s resurgence before being named head coach.

As the leader of Black Hawks Football, Coach Peckich emphasizes accountability, toughness, discipline, and a team-first culture. His mission extends far beyond Friday nights — he is committed to developing young men who are prepared to succeed in the classroom, in the community, and long after their playing careers conclude.

Under his direction, Bethel Park Football continues to build on its proud tradition — competitive, disciplined, and proudly #BuiltByBethel.
