Academic Accountability – Bethel Park Hawks Football

Excellence in the classroom is non-negotiable — it fuels everything we do on the field.

Academic Awards

Bethel Park Football formally recognizes academic achievement throughout the season and school year. These honors are earned, not given.

Academic All-Conference

Awarded to players who meet or exceed the conference GPA threshold while maintaining active roster status throughout the season.

Honor Roll Recognition

Players who earn Honor Roll status each marking period are publicly recognized by the program and coaching staff.

Scholar-Athlete Award

Presented at the end-of-season banquet to players who demonstrate sustained academic excellence across the entire school year.

Most Improved Academic

Celebrates the player who shows the greatest upward trajectory in GPA from one year to the next — growth is celebrated here.

GPA Recognition Tiers

Our GPA tier system sets a clear, transparent standard for academic performance. Every player knows exactly where they stand.

The Champions Club

A comprehensive points-based program that rewards players for excellence across academics, athletics, service, and leadership. Champions are built year-round — not just on Friday nights.

How Points Are Earned

Points accumulate across six categories. Every action counts. Every category matters.

Grades

GPA is evaluated each grading period. Points are awarded based on cumulative GPA tier. Strive for Tier 1 every single marking period.

15 pts — Tier 1 (3.85+)
10 pts — Tier 2 (3.40–3.84)
5 pts — Tier 3 (3.00–3.38)
0 pts — Tier 4 (2.9 or below)
Off-Season Training Program

Attendance in the weight room is tracked daily. Student-athletes in winter or spring sports are excused and receive the same points during their season.

1 pt/day — Winter
1 pt/day — Spring
2 pts/day — Summer
Fundraisers

Includes Vertical Raise, card sales, and all other program fundraisers. Points are based on your contribution tier. Every dollar raised helps the program.

20 pts — Tier 1
15 pts — Tier 2
10 pts — Tier 3
Physicals

Physicals must be submitted on time to earn points. Deadline is firm — preparedness and responsibility are part of the standard here.

5 pts — Submitted by July 31, 2026
Community Service

Hawks give back. Participation in approved community service events earns points. Multiple events mean multiple opportunities to earn.

BP School Events & Activities

Attend or participate in Bethel Park High School sporting events and school activities. Show up for your school community — not just your team.

5 pts — Per event attended
Leadership Training & Team Activities

5 pts — Per event/session
How the Champions Club Works

Points are tracked cumulatively throughout the year across all seven categories. Players who accumulate the highest point totals are formally recognized through the Champions Club at the end-of-season program. This system is designed to reward the complete student-athlete — one who performs in the classroom, in the weight room, in the community, and on the field. Every category is an opportunity. Champions find a way to earn in all of them.
